My Van

I have loved and been drawn to animals my whole life. As a child, I dreamed of becoming a veterinarian, always loved Zoology, and spent time exploring in the forest that was my backyard in Schodack.

When I was 13 I had the great opportunity to work on 4M horse farm in exchange for riding lessons. It really cemented my love of being around animals and wanting to be part of the care and grooming of them. Then at 15 my grooming mentor, Becky Broussord, hired me at her dog grooming shop Critter Clippers be a bather.

It was a great experience, and even when I went to college (I received a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science) I continued to work under Becky as she taught me the ins and outs of bathing, handling, and grooming dogs. I went on to do a year of grad school at the  SUNY School of Public Health. At the same time I devoted myself to volunteering with the refugee community of Albany, and found that to be my path much more then grad school. Now as a married mom of a little one, I am excited to start my own mobile grooming

business to service the dogs of the capital region.

In the 22 years I have worked for Becky, I have been blessed to learn a wealth of knowledge on animals and their care. She also introduced me to the Portuguese Water Dog (she is a breeder, her kennel is Sonrisa). They are a lively and wonderful breed and the three pups I've had (Einstein, Athena, and Zora) have brought a lot of fun and happiness to my life and family.
